Aberdeen Swim Club member Hannah Kastigar won her heat of the 400-meter individual medley in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Neb., today.
There are 13 heats with the top eight advancing to the finals later today. Each of the top two swimmers in every event will qualify the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The 16-year-old Kastigar won her heat in 4 minutes and 56.13 seconds. There are a number of swimmers in the 125-woman field who have qualifying times below 4:50.
